Terms of use

These terms govern use of CLEAR-ED by schools and staff. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them on behalf of your organisation.

The service

CLEAR-ED provides school attendance, classroom care logging, incidents, and related administration tools hosted by Clear HQ on Cloudflare. Features may change as we improve the product; material changes that affect privacy are reflected in the Privacy notice.

Your responsibilities

Keep staff credentials secure and revoke access when people leave.
Enter accurate learner and contact information; you remain the operator of that school data under POPIA.
Obtain any parent notices or consents required for photos and optional parent email notifications.
Do not use CLEAR-ED for unlawful monitoring or to store data unrelated to school operations.

Accounts & access

School admins manage staff accounts. Clear HQ may access a school solely for support when requested (time-boxed support mode) or to investigate abuse/security issues. Demo credentials, if present on a non-production environment, must not be used for real learner data.

Billing

Unless your contract says otherwise, CLEAR-ED is billed by manual invoice. Subscription status in the app reflects Clear HQ’s records. Failure to pay may result in suspension after notice.

Availability & liability

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the extent permitted by South African law, Clear HQ is not liable for indirect loss arising from attendance disputes, parent communications, or school operational decisions made using the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Termination

You may stop using CLEAR-ED at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, or security risk. On offboarding you may request an export; retention afterward follows the Privacy notice and your contract.
